Located near some of Jamaica’s most popular attractions, Runaway Bay is a vibrant town that will blow you away. Of course, the turquoise beaches are a must on the island, but there’s more! Visit the rainforest or climb waterfalls.
The local currency is the Jamaican dollar (JMD), but it is possible to buy with the American dollar. However, it is advisable to bargain with the local currency, as the locals will give you the exchange in Jamaican dollars. Be sure to notify your financial institution before you leave, so that they do not place a hold on your money.
The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) recommends that you consult a health specialist to discuss vaccinations against the following diseases: yellow fever, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid and Zika virus. Please note that two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine are required to fly from Canada and to cross the land border with the United States.
