About the destination

Santorini is a Greek volcanic island. It is probably the most famous of the Greek islands because of the famous monument called the Three Bells of Fira. It is also called “The Mythical Island”, because according to the legend, this is where the City of Atlantis was located before sinking to the bottom of the sea.

Health

The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) recommends that you consult a health professional to discuss vaccinations for the following diseases: hepatitis B, influenza, tick-borne encephalitis, yellow fever and measles. Note that two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine are required for flights from Canada and for crossing the United States border.

Passports

“Greece is a Schengen country. Canadian citizens do not need a visa to travel to Schengen countries. However, you can only travel without a visa for 90 days or less within a 180-day period. Stays are cumulative and include days spent in any Schengen country.” – Canadian Government

According to the Canadian Government, your passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the date of your expected return from the Schengen area.

The official language of Greece is of course Greek. However, it is possible to be served in English in most tourist places.

Currency

The official currency of Greece is the Euro. This currency can be used in all member countries of the European Union. If you plan to use your cards at your destination, do not forget to inform your financial institution of the dates of your stay.
