Costa Rica is a great destination for eco-tourism. Whether you want to explore the rainforest that dominates the country or simply enjoy the beautiful white sandy beaches, you will certainly experience a dream vacation in Costa Rica.
The official currency of Costa Rica is the Costa Rican Colon (CRC). U.S. currency and credit and debit cards are also accepted in tourist centers. However, if you plan to use your cards at your destination, be sure to inform your financial institution of the dates of your stay in Costa Rica.
The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) recommends that you consult a health professional to discuss vaccinations against the following diseases: hepatitis A, hepatitis B, yellow fever, influenza, rabies and measles. Please note that two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine are required to fly from Canada and to cross the land border into the United States.
Your passport must be valid for at least 1 month after your planned departure date from Costa Rica.

The official language of Costa Rica is Spanish, but a local dialect called Costa Rican Spanish is spoken. English is a language well known by the Costa Rican population, but not all businesses offer their services in this language. In addition, it is good to know that French is a mandatory language to learn in the country’s schools.
