Currency

The official currency of Barbados is the Barbadian dollar (BBD). American dollar (USD) and credit and debit cards are also accepted in tourist centers. However, if you plan to use your cards at your destination, be sure to communicate the dates of your stay in Barbados to your financial institution.

Health

The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) recommends that you consult a health professional at least six weeks before your departure to discuss the recommended vaccines: measles-mumps-rubella (MMR), diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, chickenpox and influenza. Please note that two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine are required to fly from Canada and to cross the land border into the United States.

Language

The official language of Barbados is English. Bajan, a form of Creole derived from English, is also spoken.
