Did you know that Nassau was once a favorite spot for pirates sailing the Caribbean? Today, the capital of the Bahamas is known for its beautiful beaches. It is in this city that the famous Atlantis Hotel is located.
The official currency of the Bahamas is the Bahamian dollar (B$), but the US dollar (USD) is also accepted throughout the country. Credit and debit cards are also accepted in tourist centers. However, if you plan to use your cards at your destination, be sure to inform your financial institution of the dates of your stay in Curaçao.
The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) recommends that you consult a health specialist to discuss vaccinations against the following diseases: hepatitis A and B, measles and yellow fever. Note that two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine are required for flights from Canada and for crossing the land border with the United States.

The Bahamas does not have an official language. However, English is the language most used by the population as well as by the authorities. Bahamian Creole is the second most common language.
