Crete is the largest of the Greek islands. You will quickly discover that this little corner of paradise is rather festive, as dance and music are very present in the Cretan culture. During your stay, try to taste tsipouro, a local alcohol that is available specifically on the island.


The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) recommends that you consult a health professional to discuss vaccinations for the following diseases: hepatitis B, influenza, tick-borne encephalitis, yellow fever and measles. Note that two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine are required for flights from Canada and for crossing the United States border.


“Greece is a Schengen country. Canadian citizens do not need a visa to travel to Schengen countries. However, you can only travel without a visa for 90 days or less within a 180-day period. Stays are cumulative and include days spent in any Schengen country.” – Canadian Government

According to the Canadian Government, your passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the date of your expected return from the Schengen area.
