As of October 30th 2021, Canadian travellers 12 years and older must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. This new federal measure applies to the following list of travellers:
  • Air travellers on domestic, transborder and international flights
  • Rail travellers who will be boarding VIA Rail and Rocky Mountaineer trains
  • Cruise passengers who will be boarding a for a non-essential activity of 24 hours or more
In addition, all air, rail and marine employees will be required to have received their two doses of COVID-19 vaccine by October 30.
Transition period to November 30th, 2021
Travellers in the above categories will be entitled to a transition period until November 30th, 2021. This period will apply to those who are in the process of being vaccinated, in other words, those who have already received a first dose and are waiting for the second one, and those who have an appointment scheduled for their first dose. While this transition,  people will be required to present a negative PCR test result within 72 hours prior to travel.
