Currency

The official currency of Italy is the Euro. This currency can be used in most countries of the European Union. If you plan to use your cards at your destination, don’t forget to communicate the dates of your stay in Italy to your financial institution.

Health

The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) recommends that you consult a health professional to discuss vaccinations for the following diseases: hepatitis B, influenza, tick-borne encephalitis, yellow fever and measles. Note that two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine are required for flights from Canada and for crossing the United States border.

Passports

“Italy is a Schengen country. Canadian citizens do not need a visa to travel to Schengen countries. However, you can only travel without a visa for 90 days or less within a 180-day period. Stays are cumulative and include days spent in any Schengen country.” – Canadian Government

According to the Canadian Government, your passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the date of your expected return from the Schengen area.

Language

The official language of Italy is of course Italian. It is possible to be served in English in most tourist places. However, it is still recommended to carry an instant translation application or a French-Italian pocket dictionary.

Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore

This is the most popular site in Florence. The Cathedral of Santa Maria is impressive. Made of marble on the outside, the interior is full of works of art. It is possible to climb the famous dome of the church to see the city from above.

This place offers a magnificent panoramic view of the city. This is the place to go to enjoy a wonderful sunset.
